Personality
Ximena, in general, is a very energetic canine. She is constantly babbling about one subject or another, which is often a source of annoyance for those older than her. She is avidly curious and loves learning new things. Though very friendly, she is occasionally boisterous- as she loves to talk about her accomplishments. Ximena is still very young, and learning to control her slightly compulsive behavior. Though she may come off as an extroverted, happy go lucky puppy, Ximena would consider herself as more of an introvert than anything. Though she easily makes friends, the young female would much rather spend her time by herself. She loves being "Alone with her thoughts," as the saying goes. Ximena enjoys studying nature, and the world in general, just to work out how everything works. Very intelligent, yes, but also reluctant to challenge herself. Her Poodle heritage gives her her eagerness to learn, but she is also inherently, well, lazy. Ximena often opts for the easy way out, as she prefers to get things done faster. However, she often sacrifices quality in doing this, so her work may not always be her best effort. Despite being fairly friendly, Ximena is also very strongly opinionated. She speaks her opinion first, and doesn't think about how other may have been affected until later. She often forgets to consider others feelings, this doesn't necessarily make her selfish, more so just ignorant. Ximena tries her best to be considerate, but empathy, sadly, is not her strong suit. She does care about others, in the best way she can, but is very capable of pushing that away and being cold, heartless. Often doing this without notice, it's hard for her to maintain long term relationships, as she unknowingly pushes most people away after a certain amount of time. Still innocent, though, this doesn't cause her bitterness, merely the drive to make more friends, meet new people.
Appearance
Ximena is a fairly decently sized dog, not to big, but not to be considered small either. She's a bit more in the middle. Ximena owns long, curly hair that is often in tangled mess. Her hair is of a rather wiry texture, though still rather soft. Her coat consists of a myriad of color, switching between interweaving colors of a soft golden and a deep black, flecked with patches of white here and there. Her deep brown eyes are hidden under fur, though they shine with a keenness and a youth that if often lost in adulthood. Ximena isn't fully grown, and her limbs are rather lanky and disproportional. The canine's thick, full coat protects her bodice from injury, and despite the length of her coat, she is actually quite skinny. Calloused, worm paws show proof of many miles traveled, and give her protection for many more.
History
OVERVIEW
Ximena was born into a pack in the eastern part of Washington, so she is very used to dry weather and little food. After her first eight months, however, her siblings left in search of other things, despite their parents protests. During this time, the dwindling family had been traveling an area about 20 square miles. Soon, though, Ximena's parents died from rabies, a horrible disease. Ximena miraculously managed to escape its grasp, as it killed off the rest of her siblings. By then, the young pup was really and truly alone for the first time. She knew the basics of finding food for herself, but the first month or two were very hard. She turned into a mindless creature who didn't care about anything but surviving. Anything that could be considered "humane" about her had been left behind at the scene of her parents death. One day, however, Ximena met her first rogue. He was a fierce-some animal, with large claws and shiny fangs dripping with blood. Their was a piece of rotten flesh stuck in his teeth, and his maw covered in gore. Ximena could only assume he had been hunting. The rogue, though, seemed to be convinced that Ximena was there to steal his food, and he was protecting it. Terrified, the curly furred canine had run for her life. It had been like a smack in the face. And from that she learned the difference between "living" and "surviving."
