Falling away is a relaxed low-word count canine roleplay set in a fictional Washington state city after an apocalypse level virus has wiped out all humans.
Valor trotted quickly along the path, hunger causing her belly to growl. The poor dog was desperately searching for something more substantial then garbage but had no luck with prey of any kind for days. She had been a pampered dog and never had to work for food, only treats but she earned these by simple tricks and just being adorable and affectionate in general to her family. Valor paused. Her family... She missed them so much, to the point it hurt. They're loving arms welcoming her and petting her, giving belly rubs and... No, no reason to dwell, right? Valor started moving again, searching for anything to sate her hunger, but not only for food, but attention. She was clinging to a small thread of hope that perhaps, somewhere, some humans were left. She liked other dogs but sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed with them.
The city park was less then Suka's favorite place. But she had no company or friends out by the lake due to the fact that simply not many dogs liked it out there. It was isolated and in isolation was safety but also insanity. She needed company to live it seemed, thriving off of others emotions like some preying virus. She gained energy being around others, and it only did to swell her ego.
Ever since she has figured out how to hunt enough to live she had viewed herself as above others to some extent. She had the means to survive but wanted to not just survive but have her life handed to her on a golden platter. She never had the luxury of an owner but didn't let that stop her dreams of grandeur, living as a pampered dog even when there was no humans to I've her that life. She figured that perhaps a group of friends, a pack maybe of some sorts, could offer the benefits she so seeked.
Suka had come to the city park with the hopes of finding company, and when she saw the dog looking ever so hungrily around she seized her chance, preying upon the moment to insert herself into the dogs life. "Hello there! I'm Suka, and you are? she spoke with no hesitance, and a high-held head.
Valor yelped in surprise and quickly whipped around. Her tail tucked between her legs and she crouched down slightly until she registered what the source of the noise was. Then she rose quickly and bounded over, obviously excited. She bounced around the dog, tail wagging, and tongue lolling about. "Hi Suka!" she said excitedly, speaking fast and almost slurring the two words together. She sat down and breathed in and out for about a moment, trying to calm herself enough to actually be able to speak properly. The gray-blue and white dog finally spoke again, "My name is Valor. I haven't seen another dog in quite a while, this is great!" Her voice went higher on the last word.
